annual sales goal for the Cat 5e Selective Call Intercom System in less than
three months. Sales of the award-winning Selective Call Intercom System,
which began shipping in April, have surpassed expectations due to the product’s
superior quality, easy installation and elegant design.
“We designed the Selective Call Intercom System with the needs of both
installers and homeowners as our top priority,” said Bill Bruggemeier,

Popular features of the Selective Call Intercom System include a high-resolution
color LCD interface with customizable room names; the ability to support three
separate conversations simultaneously; “page all” functionality
to communicate with the entire house; and a “hands-free reply” setting
to respond without pressing a button. The system also recently won an
Innovative Housing Technology Award in the “Networking” category.
The Selective Call Intercom is based upon On-Q’s new Q-Link Communications
Protocol, which enables the system to auto-discover all units, streamlining
the installation process. During initial set up, remote units in the
home beep for identification, allowing the installer to accurately name locations
without traveling from room to room. Additionally, the system features a self-healing
capability which causes de-activated units to drop off without hindering the
performance of the rest of the system.
Beyond its functionality, the Selective Call Intercom System offers an innovative
design that accentuates the décor of a home. The system is available
as part of the Studio Collection, On-Q’s globally-inspired line of products
that combine innovative technology with inspired design. The Studio Collection
includes a suite of wall plates and devices in 17 bold colors with a screwless
finish and titanium edging.
